INFANTS (6 WEEKS – 12 MONTHS)
Teacher child ratio 5 to 1

PLAY TO LEARN.

  • Motor Skill Development – grasping, holding, clutching, movement
  • Sensory Development – touching, feeling , hearing, listening
  • Play and Rest

Every moment with an infant is precious and we take advantage of that.  We coo, cuddle, rock, sing and bond with your baby.  Our specially designed infant care room is a place where a baby can feel safe, secure and happy.  Personal cribs, and separate areas for changing and feeding, ensure clean playing, eating and sleeping spaces.  Our internet monitoring cameras make it easy for you to peek in on your little one any time during the day.  Through simple games like peek-a-boo, our loving teachers begin the foundational work for later learning and developing motor skills.  But, we never forget that you are your child’s most important teacher, so we’ll work with you, give you daily reports, and offer tips on how to reinforce what your child learns in his/her time with us.
“God is intimately involved in children’s lives from the very beginning.”  (Psalm 139:13-16)

For more information regarding care, safety and education in our Infant Room, take our Virtual Tour (coming on or before 9/6/10).

A BABY’S DAY:
6:45 Each baby is greeted by the teacher, tempted with their favorite toy, and playtime begins.
8:15 Mmm!  A bottle for breakfast.  Got to have energy for a busy day!
9:10 Floor time with teacher as the babies work to develop fine motor skills through grasping blocks and hand toys.  Or, a big yawn and sleepy eyes means a morning snooze for baby.
9:40 Oh boy!  All Aboard!  Take a buggy ride to outside playtime.
10:15 Jesus Loves Me!  Time to sing about the one who is the King!
10:30 “Look at me! I can get to that toy!”  It’s tummy time!  Baby develops gross motor skills, while crawling and cruising.
11:15 Lunchtime, a bottle for me along with some one-on-one cuddling and cooing.
12:15 Droopy eyelids and a big yawn mean it’s time for a nap.  Night!  Night!
2:00 Rise and shine!  A fresh diaper, hug and a pat.  Baby wants a little snack!
2:30 Touching, feeling, squeezing, squeaking – It’s time for sensory activities.
3:00 Outside time!  The fresh breeze makes baby giggle with joy.
3:30 Yummy! Yummy!  An afternoon bottle for me.
4:15 Toys to push and roll are more than fun.  Playtime helps to develop motor skills.
5:00 Story time.  Baby points at pictures as the teacher reads.  What sound will we learn today?
5:30 Roll the ball and sing with me!  Jesus Loves Me, One, Two, Three! My teacher plays with me!
6:00

Baby’s face lights up as ma-ma and daddy arrives to end the day.  Bye!  Bye!  See you tomorrow!
